Chloe the Scientist

Welcome

Welcome to my science blog!

I finished my bachelor’s at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Molecular Biology and Legal Studies which is where I fell in love with the intersection between science, policy, and law. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I came to understand the importance of early science education and hope to work on changing science public policy to engage more kids to become STEMinists.

I received my Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Miami in 2024, where I learned how to help with STEM communication and science advocacy. You can learn more about my journey into science communication here.

I originally started Chloe the Scientist as an Instagram account giving a glimpse into my life as a scientist. There’s a large gap between scientists and students, and I hope to help fill this gap by bridging the two worlds through science communication!

Here I talk about all things science, with a special emphasis on careers in STEM and de-mystifying academic research.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) backgrounds offer so many different career opportunities, but often the only careers highlighted are in teaching or research. In this section, get a glimpse into the vast array of potential STEM careers explained and written by people in these careers!

Through my experiences, I have learned a lot in the research world through trial and error. Instead of all going through the same problems, I’ve written some of the most important things I’ve learned that helped my research and answered some of the questions I get asked most often in research!
